Thursday 07/06/18 6.30pm
Technical work: paradiddle diddle, pattaflafla and ratamacues all need practice.
Also the first two lines of the funk technical study.
Razor Head: groove at bar 81, adjust your bass drum pedal if you need to and practice at 140bpm. Same goes for section e. Be able to play from memory and focus on your right foot and hands being super relaxed. It's the tension that's affecting your coordination
Thursday 07/06/18 5pm
I write sins: good work with first the groove to the track. Below is the first fill into the chorus. Remember to keep your bass drums nice and full sounding. Don't let your right leg tense up and choke on the double bass drums.
Thursday 07/06/18 4pm
Warm up: page 1 of stick control read down the first column 20 bars of each excercise at 120bpm
Keep working on the 5:3 linear phrase from last lesson. Practice grouping and voicing the hand pattern around the kit. TRay starting out in a structured way and then as the pattern starts to become more familiar you can improvise over it.

Monday 04/06/18 6pm
Warm up: is 16th note patterns over a 1/4 note foot pattern. This is a great independence exercise. Start slow. When it is comfortable start moving the accents around different sounds on the kit.
Toby: focus on the accent pattern for p3 of rolling. You can now play this cleanly with the crash on 1 and with the correct foot pattern.
Seb: tech study 1 first three lines are getting there. Relax your left hand dir the 32nd note doubles. Don't fight it! If it is a little untidy for a week or two that's ok as long as it is relaxed!
Monday 04/06/18 5pm
Warm up: paradiddle phrasing showed no development from last lesson. It is really important that you practice the technical work that we cover to build a solid foundation for more advanced material.
Listen through to Humans by the killers. Practice counting the bars fir the intro, first verse and chorus. Listen to where the hi-hat parts come in.
Below is the first half of the bridge to learn for next session
Monday 04/06/18 4.15pm
Dora and bootsy: over all good progress. Open hi-hats in a) are mostly secure but still need to be spot on everytime!
Practice each fill and transition until you have memorised.
You can all now play the last line of page 2 slowly. Over the next week start bringing it up to tempo.
Y'all: practice the fills in bar 11 and 18 for next week!
