Lead sheet: section c on the second page, is starting to come together for you. Try to set clear progressive goals as you practice through out the week. I would start working on each line separately to begin with. Work to a click and work on a clean execution. Then see if you can memorise each line and ficus in the sound. Next practice you might work on combining the lines together.

S: London Town: the songo groove is sounding much stronger. Focus on playing once but really committing to the overall feel of the groove as thus will help you make it feel convincing and secure to the track! See if you can get two confident reps by Thursday.

Practice the exercise below to a track or to a metronome. When it feels comfortable try varying the bass drum and snare drum pattern and add some fills to your transitions
Grade 2: second page of Y'all. Tidy up the fills at the end of each line and the open hi-hat groove at c.
Grade 3: the double time section at before e needs to be learned. Don't worry too much about the tempo but aim for smooth control and an even feel through out. Try and memorise the 4 bar phrase starting at E.

Linear funk study:
Take the first line and try to memorise it. This will help you listen to what you're playing and hear the phrase.
Dark matter: this week break down the piece into its component sections and work on each one slowly. You can okay the grooves for each one but now I would suggest you start finessing how you play each part. Have a look at how you can use your mechanics to help with the coordination especially when there are lots of ghost notes.

Mind the gaps: groove at section c focusing on the pull with the back fingers to create the clean rude pattern and coordinate with the feet.

No one knows: the last line of the bridge needs to be controlled and flowing. Focus especially on the bass drum coordination.

The freebound exercise; let the stick bounce as many times as possible holding it between your thumb and first finger.
Bounce catch; drop the stick onto the drum and let it bounce twice, closing your back fingers after the third note to stop the stick bouncing any more.
Smooth:
Bar 5, bar 13 bar 21 should be your warm up for the piece. Start slow aiming fur solid feel and a clean sound.
Bar 30: start playing on a closed hi-hat. Play through to the end of bar 31. Taking care to focus on accuracy and control!

Dora and bootsy: intro much better this week. The open hi-hats were in the correct places and felt much more controlled. The groove in the first bar of the second line still needs some work. Go through it with out the track making sure you are reading the snare drum and bass drum part properly.

Warm ex: below is a little 3:4 independence ex. It involves playing steady 1/4 notes with the left foot while overlaying a 3 beat linear pattern on the top.
Toby: Tiberius is looking good. You successfully added in the 1/4 hi bars fir section C. Take your time with practicing this. Remember to keep your bass drum and snare drums consistent and accurate to create a secure feel. The rest of this piece is taking a really old shape well done.
Seb: tech study 2 is Starting to flow really well. As you play through to tempo think about the accents ad dynamics and how they shape the flow of the piece and the phrases.
London Town is starting have a really solid stylish feel. Now see if you can apply this to the songo groove!

Good work this week guys. Have act at the hand to hand 16th note groove that we warmed up with at the start of this lesson. Start slow and try playing this groove with a few if your favourite tracks.

Grade 3: last thing for you finish is the transition into c on this page now. Use the groove and excercise above to build your hand speed control and stamina for this groove.

Play through the first three bars of this piece slowly making sure your bass drum pattern is 100% accurate! Your performance of this piece is really good but there are small errors in the exact bass drum and snare phrases.
Also re-cap the groove at section b: remember it starts with a snare and crash at the start!
